Bill Chen graduated from The High School Affiliated to the No.11 School of Haidian District, Beijing, and attended May Day Primary School. He is currently studying percussion performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
With years of symphonic and operatic performance experience, Bill has participated in major works such as:
Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, Beethoven’s Symphonies No. 7 and 9
Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9
Stravinsky’s The Firebird, Johann Strauss Jr.’s Die Fledermaus Overture
Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute and the musical Cats, among others
In China, Bill was actively involved in one-on-one private teaching and school ensemble training. His students have successfully passed:
CMA (Central Conservatory of Music) snare drum and music theory exams
CCOM (China Conservatory of Music) percussion exams
ABRSM and AMEB music examinations
He has led rehearsals and served as a substitute instructor at May Day Primary School Wind Band and Beijing No.161 Middle School, gaining a reputation for being a professional, patient, and inspiring percussion teacher.
